The self-guided tour includes the tunnel, house, and grounds. It also features a small, very wonderfully air-conditioned theater where they show a short dramatization.

She provides knowledge about various flowers, trees, and palms in the garden. There is a wide variety of flora so you will see lots of butterflies.

Sit on the plenty of shaded benches and appreciate the hard work taken to make this place such wonder. There is also a little cafe on-site and a cute little locally sponsored shop.

21. Watch A Horse Race At Garrison Savannah

The field was once used by the British forces as a parade ground. Today the property hosts sports of various kinds including rugby and soccer games.

The officers of Britain once raised their horses in 1845 and it became the home of the Garrison Savannah horse racecourse. If you are in this part of the town and fancy live gambling, visit the savannah.

If you do not want to pay the entry fee, around the whole race trace you will find a small white fence where you can stand and watch the horses run by.

22. Learn History At Sunbury Plantation Great House

A lovely historical house that showcases the charm of Barbados steeped in culture. Along the tour, you get a glimpse of the colonial past.

23. Explore The Mount Gay Visitors' Centre

Mount Gay Rum is one of the oldest and continuously running rum distilleries on the island. They provide a tour of their visitor center to tourists.

You are served a delicious rum punch while you wait for the tour guide. After that, you watch a brief 10-minute movie before going through 2 barns of the history of the Mount Gay rum plantation.

They have some cool items that were used to make the rum in the 1700's along with the official first license that legalized them to make it. After finishing the tour of the property, you can sample several kinds of their rums.

24. Stop By Earthworks Pottery

Earthworks Pottery has traditional Barbadian pottery. The shop is quite large and there are lots of colorful pieces to choose from.

Prices are decent and they do take credit cards. At the same time there is a Batik shop, HP Batik Studio on the same property along with a cafe.

The pottery is located in a residential neighborhood on a hill setback overlooking the water. You can climb up the steps that have broken pieces of pottery embedded in them. This isn't a fancy store but a working pottery studio.

25. Wander Around Farley Hill National Park

From the park, you get a lovely distance view at the elevation of the northernmost tip of the island. There are amazing stands of mixed species of mature trees including kapok, mature mahogany, and Australian pines.

The dominating feature of the site is a stone mansion destroyed by fire. Watch the 1956 movie "Island in the Sun," to get a real view of the house. It was after the filming, that the house caught fire.

It takes 6 Barbados dollars to take your car in but otherwise, it's free. It is well worth a stop for great views, lovely grounds, and a dramatic ruined mansion.
